5. If reaction is not stopped, then the product will be formed continously until the substrate is available. Once the substrate becomes limiting, the reaction will stop on its own. In order to make the reaction go indefinitely, the substrate must be supplied continously.

6. The phenomenon where one of the product is used as an inhibitor to stop the overall reaction is known as feed back inhibition. It is done when the final product is not required anymore and formation of anymore product will result in wastage of energy. So, in this case the reaction is stopped by feedback inhibition.
