Answer #1

1. Gas fixed by RUBISCO in the dark reaction is CO2. The enzyme RUBISCO fixes the atmospheric CO2 by catalysing the reaction between carbon dioxide RuBP.

2. Ultimate goal of Calvin cycle for C3,C4,CAM is the light reactions release O2.

3. where the dark reaction take in CO2 is choloroplast.. It occurs in the stromata of the choloroplast to utilise the products of light reaction.

4. The use of bundle sheath cells as an adaptation to photorespiration C4 in corn

5. the use of organic acid to store CO2 during the night is needed in the CAM photosynthesis as it occurs in arid plants and during the day the stomata remain closed to reduce transpiration and opens at night to capture carbon dioxide.

6. Regenerated in the last step of calvin cycle is RuBP. Regeneration of RuBP generates more carbon dioxide fixation.

7. Intermediate molecule of calvin cycle used as stepping stone to sugar is G3P. Itleaves the calvin cycle to produce carbohydrates.

8. Sugar reducing endosymboint in plant cells is CH20 to starch.

    5. Photosynthetic adaptations to extreme environments Aa Aa Rubisco carries out photorespiration when the ratio of O2 to CO2 is too high. As a result, certain plants have adaptations meant to keep this ratio low in tissue locations where their photosynthetic cells need to use Rubisco. The following image describes how when these two sets of events occu plants prevent photorespiration. Label the image by identifying where or C3 Carbohydrate M Sunlight ATP HANN and and C-c-c- NADPH GGGG NADPH...

Photosynthesis - what is meant by each round? Carbon fixation occurs in the stroma of the chloroplast in a process known as the Calvin Cycle. It occurs in three stages: Stage 1: Carbon Fixation, Stage 2: Reduction, and Stage 3: Regeneration of RuBP. In Stage 1, __ molecule(s) of CO2 are added to __ molecules of RuBP, which was regenerated from the previous cycle. This process is catalyzed by the enzyme Rubisco. The final product from each round of the...

Building Vocabulary: Plant Adaptations to Hot, Dry Climates 6 of C3 photosynthesis photorespiration 1. In plants, the first product of carbon fixation is the three-carbon compound 3-PGA formed in the Calvin cycle 2. When such plants close their stomata on hot, dry days to conserve water leaf and is added to RuBP in place of CO2 A two-carbon product of this reaction is broken down to Co2 consuming ATP and generating no sugar 3. The apparently wasteful process described in...

The energized electron leaves photosystem _____ and is delivered to the ____ _____ _____ where its energy is used to pump ______ into the thylakoid. A high concentration of _____ in the thylokoid is used to create the molecule _____ by combining ______ and _____ by a process called ______. This happens when they force their way out of thylakoid through a protein called ATP synthase. After the electron transport chain, the electron is delivered to another photosystem (photosystem 1),...
