A white eyes female fruit fly is mated to a red eyed (wild type) male. While most of their progeny are as expected, occasionally a white eyed female is produced due to nondisjunction in the female. What is the likely karyotype of this white eyed daughter? (assume all fruit flies have AA as autosomes)!!

If non disjunction occur , one Chromosome pair will have extra copy while other chromosome will lack one chromosome .XXX- metafemale

XO- metamale or sterile male

XXY- normal female

XX- normal female

Since , XXY will be able to form normal female and show non disjunction condition . It will be the karyotype for the white eyes fruit fly.
