Option 1 - RNA synthesis is less processive during elongation than during initiation. - FALSE

During transcription when the initiation is started at promoter, the nucleotides are added slowly at promoter until the 12 nucleotide bases are added and then the RNA polymerase removes the promoter and proceeds to the elongation phase in which the nucleotides are added very fast due to the increased efficiency RNA polymerase. Thats why the synthesis of RNA is more processive in elongation compared to that in initiation.
