Answer #1

5 RNA transcript (3 template/ 15 template 13 - RNA transcript Is coding 5 CodingThe RNA is synthesized in 5'-3' direction, i.e. new nucleotides will be added to the 3'-OH of the last nucleotide of the RNA chain. Therefore, the protruding end of RNA is 5'RNA transcript, while 3'RNA transcript is still bound with DNA template.

During transcription, RNA is synthesized on DNA template stand. The new RNA is identical in nucelotide sequence (except U and T) to coding DNA stand. Therefore, the DNA stand which is bound with RNA is template stand, while the other one is coding stand.

Transcription occurs in anti-parallel manner, i.e. 5'-3' RNA to 3'-5' DNA. So, the template stand end which is nearby to 3' RNA transcript is 5'Template while the other one is 3'Template.

In the same anti-parallel manner template and coding DNA stands are bound.
