Answer #1

Date Fagel DPE TATA INR CAAT -2s

a. The four main sequences of the eukaryotic core promotor for RNA polymerase II are TATA box or -25 , INR sequence located around nucleotide + 1 . , CAAT box and GC box.

the core promotor consists of two segments the -25 TATA box ( consensus 5´ TATAXAX -3´ ) where X is A or T and INR initiator sequence ( consensus 5´ PY2 CAPy5 - 3´ ) located around nucleotide +1. and the two regulatory sequences are found in many eukaryotic genes are CAAT box and GC box . The CAAT box is recognized by the activators NF- 1 and NF - y , whereas GC box is recognized by Sp 1 activator.

b. The sequence used in DPE (downstream promotor element) driven promotor is AGGATCTGAC. located at position +28 to 32 DPE has a variable sequence and binds TFII D.

c. TATA driven promotor sequence is TATAAA .
