Question 21

Answer: The structure and function of protein is changed by various factors. Post-translational modifications such as methylation and lipid modification changes the structure and then function of the protein. Hence, option A and B are incorrect. Changes in the position of reactive amino acids changes the conformation of protein and function of the protein. Proteolysis involves breakdown of proteins in to peptides or amino acids that disrupt the protein structure and function. Hence, Option D and E are incorrect. mRNA contains poly A tail at the 3'end that protects the mRNA from degradation in cytoplasm and play a major role in transcription termination and nuclear export. Change in the length of poly A tail of the mRNA transcript does not change the structure and function of protein. Hence, option C is the correct answer.
