1. Priming- Damaged plant due to herbivory release bio-organic volatile organic compound in the soil, which is sensed by the neighbouring plant and in respose to this stimuli they sensitise their immune system and thus pepare themselves for future herbivore attack. Example- in sagebush and tobacco

2. Companion planting- Plants benefit each other when present in close proximity. Example-Corn , beans and squash - Three sisters garden benefit each other. Beans add nitrogen which is used by corn ansd squash
