  1. Pinacocytes- Skin cells of sponges lining the exterior of their body wall.
  2. Choanocytes- Line the interior of the body wall.
  3. Archaeocytes- Totipotent cells
  4. Sclerocytes- Secrete spicules.
  5. Myocytes- Surround canal openings and pores and contract to regulate flow.
  6. Porocytes- Surround canal openings and pores and contract to regulate flow.
  7. Spongocytes- Secrete spongin skeletal fibres.
  8. Lophocytes- Produce fibrillar collagen.
  9. Collenocytes- Secrete fibres or collagen fibres.
