  • Adenine makes up 30.9 % of the DNA sample.
  • According to chargaffs rule amount of Adenine is equal to amount of thymine and amount of guanine is equal to cytosine.
  • that means same percent of Thymine will present in DNA sample that is Thymine is also 30.9 percent.
  • So A+T=61.8 %
  • G+C=100-61.8
  • =38.2 %
  • But percent of C = percent of G
  • Hence 2G=38.2
  • G=38.2÷2=19.1 %
  • So guanine is 19.1 % and cytosine is also 19.1 %
