Agrobacterium tumefaciens is a gram-negative bacterium mostly found in soil. It is used for plant transformation by the transfer of the tumor-inducing plasmid generally referred to as Ti plasmid to the host cells. It has the ability to integrate itself into the plant DNA  and is where it also gets expressed.
