Answer #1

We know that as the recombinnation fequency between two genes increase the distance between them also increase.

Here the recombinnation frequency between P-D is 50% which is the highest and thus they are the furthest away from each other.

The gene order between these three genes are P-Q-D

    1. 2. 13. Which statement explains why the recombination frequency between two genes is always less than 50%? Recombination cannot be more than 50% because chromosomes are only 50 map units in length. The genotype of the F, gametes will always be 50% parental gametes and 50% recombinant gametes. Genes with a recombination frequency near 50% are unlinked and have an equal likelihood of being inherited together or separately. F1 gametes always have 50% of their alleles from each parental...

Required information The recombination frequency between genes that are located on different chromosomes is 50%, a hallmark of independent assortment. Genes that are located close together on the same chromosome have a recombination frequency less than 50%, which is an indication of linkage. Complete the following questions to investigate recombination frequency between genes that are far apart on the same chromosome. Two genes on the same chromosome may have no crossover (NCO), a single crossover (SCO), or a double crossover...

    43. In a region of chromosome 4 there are three genes, j, k, 1. 10 cM 20 cM The coefficient of coincidence in this region is 0.8, and it is known that the interference is driven by j-k recombination where recombination between j and k interferes with recombination in the region between k and 1. A true -breeding k is mated with a true-breeding j 1 individual. The resultant triple heterozygote is test crossed. What classes (include phenotypes and proportions)...

There are three genes - A, B, C - on the same chromosome. You have been studying gene A and know that the distance between A and B is 5 m.u. (map units), and the distance between A and C is 3 m.u. Based on the information you have, above, what are potential arrangements of all three genes on the chromosome? You can choose more than one.
