Answer #1

Ans:

A- Leading Strand

B- Lagging Strand

C- Leading Strand

D- Lagging Strand

DNA replication is a process of producing two identical replicas of DNA by replicating the parent DNA molecule. It involves several enzymes and proteins in the process. The replication fork is that area where replication actually begins. DNA helicase unwinds the double helix structure of parent DNA forming a fork like structure that is composed of one leading strand and lagging strand.

Leading strand is replicated continuously in the 5'-3' direction whereas the lagging strand is replicated from 3'-5' direction in a discontinuous fashion in short sections also known as okazaki fragments. In the picture above the leading strand will be produced in A and C while the lagging strand will be produced in short fragments in B and D.
