Ans. It is good to have a multitude of options to kill microbes because of the following reasons:

1) Antibiotics resistance - Over use of antibiotics causing bacterias to defeat the antibiotic and they grow. It can also leads to superbugs

e.g- MDR TB

2) Antibiotics kill bacterias indiscriminately and due to this good bacterias also died which affects the microbiome of our body.

e.g - our germ phobic culture - excessive use of anti-bacterial soaps and sanitizers

3) Bacterial mutations - A large number of doses been administered to the livestock in view of large amounts of meat production, which led to a disrupted antibiotic gut - flora, and gradually over the period of time drug resistant pathogens breed.

4) Phase Therapy can be the other option - It uses viruses to treat bacterial infections.

Phages works both for treatable and antibiotic resistant bacteria.

Answer : It is good to have multitude of options to kill the microbes because--

1. It will be easier to prevent the harmful microbes to contaminate the food items as we will get many options to kill them.

2. We will get many options to treat any patient sufferring from the infection of many diseases which is caused by microbes and then it will be easier to treat them.

3. We can also get many ways to prevent the spread or transmission of infectious diseases caused by microbes.
