Gene control is alternatively known as gene regulation . In gene control/gene regulation gene expression could be turned on and off according to the need of cell, organism to perform their function.

gene regulation is very important process to maintain the cell/ organism functionallity and the integrity. gene expression can be controlled at two level which is transcriptional level and second is at trnaslational level. Gene controll directs the potential use of cellular resources to the cell's environment.

for example in harsh environmental condition if cell need a particular protein to cope up then the particular gene would allow to express but when the condition become favorable to the cell that gene will be controlled for expression.
