I have to do a paper on coronavirus 19 and I know about the origin of how is spread, where, why and all the small details but one question that's part of my assignment is why do you think it's spread so quickly where it originated... there has to be a better detailed, summarized or insightful and logical answer to this aside from things ive Artie stated in the paper because they've been previously asked

so the question is why do you think it spread so quickly where it originated?

Answer:

On December 31st last year, China alerted WHO of several cases of unusual pneumonia in Wuhan, a port city in Central Hubei province. The virus was unknown.Several of those infected worked at the City's Huanan seafood wholesale market. As health experts worked to identify the virus amid growing alarm the number of infections started increasing rapidly. WHO officials announced on January 7th 2020, that they have identified the new virus and named it 2019-ncov - belonging to the coronovirus family. Subsequently WHO has declared it as a global pandemic as it spread to most countries of the world.

Corona viruses are spread through being in close proximity to an infected person and inhaling droplets generated when they cough or sneeze or touching the surfaces where the droplet lands and then touching one's face or nose.So it called for an immediate lockdown in Wuhan.

Coronavirus existed in animals only, but in the Wuhan market it mutated and made the jump from animal to people. At first, only animals could give it to a human. But here is the scary part, in just two weeks it mutated again and gained the ability to jump from human to human causing great damage to human lungs & large casualities. Scientists call this quick ability - slippery. As humans have no known immunity and doctors have no known medicines, it took off like a rocket & has killed many people & is hitting the eldering population harder.

It is twice as hard to develop a vaccine and we have no tools currently to combat the virus. History has shown that fast and immediate closing of public places has helped in the past pandemics ( Spanish flu- 1918, Black plague). So I feel, if an immediate action had been taken to lockdown Wuhan/ the province & social distancing advocated, it could have certainly arrested the spread of the virus.
