The correct option is: C (When antibiotics are overused susceptible bacteria are constantly being killed off even when an infection is not being present. However any individual bacteria that are resistant to these antibiotics will survive and multiply, reducing the likelihood that antibiotic treatment will be effective in the future)

Explanation: The repititive use of antibiotics will reduce the effectiveness as the organism becomes resistant to it and no more can harm the bacteria and reduce the infection. This is because the bacteria finds its own way to tackle the antibiotic and makes it nonfunctional by changing its configuration or by disintegrating it.
