Answer #1

I have mentioned the filament types, with applicable statement shown with letter and reason or example explaining the same.

Actin Filaments:

A (all three filament types are found in the cytoskeleton which extends from nucleus to plasma membrane of cell)

B (Can help for the transport of cargoes, including protein-containing vesicles and even organelles. These cargoes are carried by individual myosin motors, which "walk" along actin filament bundles.)

C (actin filaments interact with integrins, which are key proteins involved in adhering to the ECM)

D (ATP hydrolysis controls the asscoiations of actin filaments)

E (an important function of phagocytosis is to rapidly change shape, which is the function of actin filaments, becoming the main target during this process)

F (forms bundles for myosin interaction)

Intermediate Filaments:

A (reason mentioned above)

F (bundles of protofilaments with tight associations)

Microtubules:

A (reason mentioned above)

B (They provide tracks for motor proteins called kinesins and dyneins, which transport vesicles and other cargoes around the interior of the cell)

F (bundle formation of microtubules is critical for cell division stages)

please answer all that you can 1. You have genetically engineered green fluorescent protein (GFP) containing a KDEL sequence (GFP-KDEL). When GFP-KDEL is expressed in normal human fibroblasts and examined using fluorescence microscopy, the fluorescence appears diffuse across the cytoplasm. How would you explain this observations given that KDEL is supposed to be an ER-specific sorting sequence? A. This engineered GFP would not have a hydrophobic signal sequence to get it into the RER in the first place. B. The...

mestion Completion Status: Why did I suggest that the secret to life is electrons and protons? A. Because redox reactions are necessary for all of the reactions in live cells and these redox reactions require both H+ and electrons B. Because electrons carry a negative charge and protons have a positive charge C. Because most (not all) cells need electron transport and H+ gradients to make ATP D. Because electrons are necessary for the electrical responses of the cell (like...
