In animal cells a characteristic feature during cytokinesis is the formation of something called E. Cytokinetic furrow, while in plants a characteristic feature that forms is the D. Cell plate.

Prokaryotes do not have nucleus and so they do not perform E. Cell cycle. and simply dupicate their chromosome and divide with a process known as C. Binary fission.

Different cells divide at different rate because they vary with respect to regulation of their Cell cycle. This internal clock has specific Check points that essentially signal the cells to stop or to go. Two proteins that are definitely involved in the process of cell cycle control are cyclins and cyclind dependent kinases. When the two combine to form a maturation promoting factor the cell is able to move past G2 into Mphase. Growth factors can induce cells to divide. Healthy cells usually demonstarte density dependent inhibition and anchorage dependence and when they no longer exhibit those features, They have probably developed into cancer cells.

Cancer cells typically begin as a E. benign tumour which is a small lump of cells that are relatively harmless and remain in one place. As a lump develop further it may become a A.mlignant tumour. which is characterised as being able to invade the surrounding tissues. once it ia able to spread to new locations in the body, cancer has developed the ability to metastasize.
