1) If permeable of potassium ions decreases, it would decrease the membrane potential (depolarize the cell) because reduction in equilibrium potential for potassium will mean less potential will diffuse out of the cell, leaving internal more positive than before.

2) If extracellular potassium concentration increases, then the potassium gradient across cell membrane decreases therefore resting membrane potential will become more positive.

3) Oxygen is used in cellular respiration by the cell which help them to convert glucose into energy.
