Answer #1

a) zygote is diploid, so zygote will divide meiotically to produce haploid cells, the haploid cells produce zoospores via mitosis, so the answer is B) B only

b) zoospores are produced by haploid cells via mitosis, so zoospores are haploid, and the zoospores develop to the multicellular stage via mitosis so the answer is d) A and C only.

c) Ulothrix reproduce sexually and asexually like fungi and similar to fungi the diploid stage is produced by the fusion of haploid cells, the diploid stage undergoes meiosis and produces haploid cells which develop to fungi, Ulothrix also produces diploid zygote which undergoes meiosis to produce haploid cells which develop to multicellular haploid stage so the lifecycle of Ulothrix is more similar to that of fungi.

my assigned organism is Naked mole rat (Heterocephalus glaber). please type it. The first step in understanding how information is passed from one generation to the next is understanding how cells divide, particularly how the DNA is passed on to the resulting cells. In this discussion, you will describe the life cycle of an animal or plant of your choosing. The animal or plant you choose must have a sexual life cycle (although it may also have an asexual life...

Cells are the basic units of structure and function in all organisms. A key feature in the life cycle of plants is the alternation of multicellular haploid and diploid generations. Imagine a lineage of flowering plants in which mitotic cell division did not occur between the events of meiosis and fertilization. Describe how this change in the timing of cell division would affect the structure and life cycle of plants in this lineage.

Question 29 3 pts The biggest difference between chlorophyte life cycles and the generalized life cycle of land plants is that chlorophytes are unable to reproduce sexually; their only method of reproduction is asexual. O land plants alternate between a diploid and a haploid stage; chlorophytes are always haploid. O land plants undergo mitotic cell divisions as part of their life cycle; chlorophytes divide through binary fission. O chlorophytes require an endosymbiotic host in order to complete their life cycle....

    8. Which of the statements about the organization of complex multicellular organisms is false? Only some cells are in direct contact with the environment. Exterior cells receive environmental signals directly, whereas interior cells receive environmental signals indirectly Exterior cells are highly differentiated, whereas interior cells are not differentiated. Interior cells cannot grow as fast as exterior cells without mechanisms to transfer nutrients between cells. Signals transferred from exterior cells to interior cells can activate or repress gene expression in the...

Phylum Hepatophyta: Liverworts Like the moss, liverworts begin as a haploid spore. As a liverwort spore germinates, it develops into a flat, lobed, leaf-like structure called a thallus. The thallus grows prostrate with the ground’s surface, forming rhizoids that anchor it in place. Liverworts reproduce asexually primarily by fragmentation; however, some liverworts may also reproduce asexually by bundles of tissue called gemmae. In many liverworts, gemmae develop in small cup-like structures called gemmae cups. Splashed from the cups by rain,...
