You are examining snacking behavior in your dorm. Youve determined that late night snacking is a dominant trait (M_) compare
The frequency of ABO blood group alleles in New York state are approximately fA: 0.29, fB: 0.08, and fC: 0.63. Assuming that

Answer #1

Question 1

  • Ans : Option 2
  • \bigcirc The frequency of early to bed-ers in your dom means that the frequency of that phenotype in your dom (10%) is the same in a different dorm

Reason : Given , out of 100 population

MM = 67, Mm = 23, mm = 10

From this dominant trait is expressed in both MM and Mm. i.e. 90 of the population allele express M (late night snacking). 10% will be early bed-ers.

Question 2

  • Ans : Option 1
  • \bigcirc13 individuals are Type O

Reason : The ratio of Type O, fC = 0. 63. That is the probability of individual to have Type blood is 0.63.

Therefore, If 20 individuals are there, the probability to have Type O will be

20 X 0.63 = 12.6 \simeq 13.

Question 3

  • Ans : Option 1
  • \bigcirc 22.1%

Reason : Lactase persistent individuals require atleast one dominant allele. Therefore probability the cappuccino to be homozygous dominant will be 1/3 of 72%.

    2. Alleles D and L are codominant alleles that define fur color in Madagascar lemurs. Lemurs that are homozygous for allele D (genotype DD) have dark brown fur. Lemurs that are homozygous for the L allele (genotype LL) have very light brown fur. The DL heterozygotes are generally light brown, but they have a dark patch or a collar around their neck. Among the 600 Lemurs that you studied on Madagascar, the distribution of genotypes was as follows: Dark brown...

Please show work. Thank you. 12. A small portion of deer have a trait called leucism, which is white coat. The frequency of the leucitic phenotype is 0.00005 (or 1/20,000). Leucism is recessive to wild type color. Assuming that the deer population is in Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium fr A. Estimate the frequencies of the recessive leucistic allele (I) and the dominant wild type allele (L) B. Estimate the frequency of deer with heterozygous genotype C. F is the dominant allele and fis the recessive allele. Individuals who are homozygous dominant (FF) or heterozygous (F) for the trait express freckles. Individuals who are homozygous recessive (ff) for the trait do not express freckles. In this population, 30% (0.3) of the alleles are recessive (1) and 70% (0.7) are dominant (F)....

PLEASE SHOW GRAPH ONLY. A gene with two alleles (e.g. A and a) is responsible for a dominant trait in Hellbenders (Cryptobranchus alleganiensis). AA individuals have a normal phenotype, while those with aa lack the trait. Heterozygotes have phenotypes that are identical to AA individuals. Although aa individuals have lower survivorship (15%) than those with the “normal” trait (35%), they have higher fecundity over their lifetime (100 individuals for aa; compared to 48 for AA and Aa). Assume the allele...
