Answer #1

Answer-

According to the given question-

PDC- pyruvate dehydrogenase complex is a structure that are made up of 3 different enzymes namely

  • E1 is called  pyruvate dehydrogenase
  • E2 is called dihdrolipoyl transacetylase
  • E3  is called  dihyrdolipoyl dehydrogenase

This enzyme is responsible for irreversible convertion of  Pyruvate into  acetyl-CoA which enter into citric acid cycle. The pyruvate dehydrogenase complex is regulated by feedback inhibition by cetyl-CoA. and NADH.

The Phosphorylation of pyruvate dehydrogenase complex leads to deactivation of complex while NADH and  ATP stimulate kinase activity that are responsible for deactivation of pyruvate dehydrogenase complex .

phosphatase activity is stimulated by Ca2+ that leads to Activation of pyruvate dehydrogenase complex .

So the correct answer for the question is Regulation of mammalian pyruvate dehydrogenase complex is (E) is accomplished , in part, by pyruvate dehydrogenase phosphatase that leads to pyruvate dehydrogenase complex activation.

Choose the ONE BEST answer explaining how oxaloacetate and acetyl-CoA levels are balanced to maximize flux through the citrate cycle when energy charge in the cell is lovw Oxaloacetate is required for mitochondrial shuttle systems, and therefore it makes sense to activate pyruvate carboxylase by ATP and inhibit it by malate. None of the answers are correct. The best way to balance the input of carbon into the citrate cycle is to regulate the production of citrate using vitamins like...

please answer all 1. A type of adipose tissue in many organisms is called brown fat. Which of the following statements is correct for brown fat? Hibernating bears have very little of this type of adipose tissue. It produces a great deal of heat as a result of the presence of thermogenin. The efficiency of oxidative phosphorylation is high in this tissue. Its color is derived from high blood supply. 2. What statement illustrates the role of Ca2+ in regulation...
