The correct answer is c) Deletion

Reason : It is easily noticable that mutated sequence contains one less character than wildtype DNA sequence. Secondly, if you notice it closely, the character "E" has been actually deleted from the third triplet in wildtype sequence. So after deletion of "E" all the other characters will shift one character towards the left, causing a frame shift. Hence after 'E' is removed, then the resultant triplets after THE CAT will be ATT HEB IGR AT.
