Answer #1

Here is final answer for question (a)

ALU Add result Add Shift left2 PCSO Instruction (31 26] RegDst Jump Branch MemRead MemtoReg Control ALUOP MemWrite ALUSrc Reg

Explanation: Notice that the new connections made do not extend any multiplexer nor add a new component. The jump control signal signifies this instruction.

(b) For all other intructions we do not want jump to happen hence the value of jump for all other instructions is 0.

For jlr instruction here the values for all control signals in the order of the table.

Modify the circuit to support a MFCC instruction. MFCC Rd instruction: Move From Condition Codes MFCC copies into the four rightmost bits of Rd the values of the ALU signals Carry (C), Overflow (O), Zero (Z) and Negative (N) as they were set by the previous R- type instruction. The remaining 28 bits of Rd are set to zero. Describe the changes and additions needed for the single-cycle MIPS processor datapath and control to support this instruction. Hints: 1) MFCC...

    4. (10 pts) The following MIPS single-cycle datapath cannot perform Divide instruction. Indicate any changes to the datapath that must be done in order to support Div instruction, e.g., adding extra wires, extra logic gates, extra registers, etc. Do your modification on the following figure if necessary, and show the dataflow for this instruction using dash lines on the modified figure. Also show the values of the corresponding control signals in the following table and add new control signals to...
