Answer #1

Ans. Direct fitness is number of offspring an individual produces. So if i am having 3 children then my direct fitness is 3.

Indirect fitness is calculated by number of related individuals produced multiplied by degree of relatedness to those individuals.First we need to calculate degree of relatedness. So half sister means one parent is in common. So i am related to my mother by r=0.5;the that mother is related to its other child(my half sister) by r=0.5.half sister is related to her children by r=0.5. So degree of relatedness become 0.55= 0.03125.Number of related individuals are mother, half sister and her two children which is 4. Indirect fitness is 4(number of related individuals produced) * 0.03125=0.125.

Inclusive fitness is direct fitness plus indirect fitness.

3+0.125=3.125
