Which statement does not describe a fundamental feature of DNA replication?
It is semiconservative.
It requires a template.
It involves polymerizing deoxyribonucleotides only.
It begins at a DNA location known as an origin.
Answer
According to the given question-
DNA replication is the the biological process where a single molecule of double stranded DNA molecule divided into two identical copy of parental DNA double helix during cell division. It involves several steps such as-
(1) formation of replication fork
(2) initiation- when the primer binds with the initiation site
(3) elongation- with the help of DNA polymerase
(4) termination
DNA double helix is mede up of two strand which are complementary to each other. And each strand are first separated during DNA replication and work as a template strand for the New synthesis DNA strand so due to which the new strand are formed have one new strand while one original strand this is called semiconservative mode of replication. Replication started in the dna at a specific region called original of replication.after formation of replication fork with the help of enzyme helicase the protein attached to the site of initiation and here DNA polymerase synthesised the new strand by adding the nucleotides which are complementary to other nucleotides of DNA.
So considering each options the DNA replication is semiconservative, it requires template, it begins at origin of replication but it involves polymerization of nucleotides or deoxyribonucleotides triphosphate such as dGTP, dCTP, dATP, dTTP not only deoxyribonucleotides.
So the polymerizing deoxyribonucleotides only is not the fundamental features of DNA replication.

Which of the following is not a correct description of DNA replication in bacteria? Replication is semiconservative Replication is discontinuous Replication is dispersive Replication begins at the origin of replication and proceeds bidirectionally
Describe the process of DNA replication. (Your answer should include the following: replication fork, semiconservative replication, replication fork, DNA gyrase, helicase, primase, DNA polymerase, DNA ligase, leading strand, lagging strand, continuous replication, non-continuous replication, and Okazaki fragment)
Briefly describe the Meselson and Stahl experiment that indicated that DNA replication is semiconservative. How would their results have differed if DNA replication was actually conservative in nature?
1. DNA replication is considered semiconservative because Group of answer choices it will create three new, identical strands when finished. it never replicates in the 5 to 3 prime direction. it always replicates in the 3 to 5 prime direction. it uses the original strand as a template for replication. 2. Which is NOT true about the genetic code? Group of answer choices It produces 64 different possibilities of base sequences. It contains start and stop codons as instructions. It...

QUESTION 3 Which of the following statement regarding the early events of DNA replication is true? O A. DnaA is the first protein to bind to the Origin of Replication. B. Origin of Replication is the protein that marks the region in the DNA where replication will begin. O C. DnaB is the helicase which unwinds the double helical structure of DNA. O D.DnaC has no activity but is responsible for brining DnaA to the Origin of Replication. O E....
Why does a new DNA strand elongate only in the 5' to 3' direction during DNA replication? The polarity of the DNA molecule prevents addition of nucleotides at the 3' en Replication must progress toward the replication fork. DNA polymerase can add nucleotides only to the free 3' end. DNA polymerase begins adding nucleotides at the 5' end of the template,
