Ans 1) Tau protein

It is a protein which is abundantly present in the neurons of the central nervous system. They play a very important role in stabilising the microtubules. It is found that diseases like dementia and Alzheimer disease and Parkinson disease is associated due to defect in this protein. They are product of alternative splicing of the MAPT gene and is located in chromosome 17.

Ans 2) Tau proteins pathway is very important because it helps in stabilising the microtubule within a cell. It is a microtubule associated protein and it plays an important role in number of molecular pathways like cell signalling, regulation of genomic stability etc.

Ans 3) The whole pathway of tau protein is very significant in humans as it plays a major role in multiple cell signalling pathways. It helps in prevention of many diseases as it takes care of larger number of neuronal functions. It plays a major role in preventing Alzheimer and other neuron system related disease. It prevents one from multiple neurodegenerative disease

Ans 4) There are many cellular events that requires the help of tau proteins. It helps with tubulin polymerisation where it interacts at the C-terminal end and it leads to certain post translational modifications, mostly by phosphorylation.

The tau proteins also help with post-synaptic scaffolding protein and it helps in modulating the activity of multiple kinases. It leads to many signalling activation.

It helps with growth factor signalling also where the protein is distributed at ends of cellular extension.
