1. How does sensory adaptation influence what you sense?

Answer:

Sensory adaptation is the process by which our brain cells become less sensitive to constant stimuli that are picked up by our senses. This process occurs for all the senses except for vision, which is the most important sense for humans.it is due the saccadic movement of our eye.

example for sensory adaptation is  When you are wearing a new ring, you may at first be aware of the sensation of pressure on your skin, but after a while you no longer notice it.

2. Which chemical sense is more effective at identifying an object being chewed?

Answer

There are mainly three important chemical senses in our body they are olfaction,taste,trigeminal chemosensory system.

in which the chemical sense that is effective at identifying an object being chewed is taste sensation.Its done with the help of taste buds.

3. How does the auditory system distinguish between two different sounds?

Auditory hair cells are specialized along the length of the cochlea to respond to specific sound frequencies.it can percieve different sound because of different frequency and interpret as different sounds.

4. Why do some people see better than others?

Answer

  Anisometropia is a condition that occurs when your eyes have varying refractive powers, which can cause your eyes to focus unevenly. This condition typically occurs when one eye is a different size or shape than the other and results in asymmetrical curvatures, asymmetric farsightedness, or asymmetric nearsightedness

There are condition like night blindness that is some people night vision is reduced,it is due to Vitamin A deficiency.

5. If you could not smell food, how would your experience eating food change?

  The sense of smell also enhances your ability to taste. Many people who lose their sense of smell also complain that they lose their sense of taste. Most can still tell between salty, sweet, sour, and bitter tastes, which are sensed on the tongue.so it will depend the people nature.
