1) New mean (x bar)= 18.3 + 5 = 23.3

because adding 5 hours in every employee results in adding 5 hours in mean.

2) New standard deviation = 3.4

As we are increasing 5 hours in every employee work hours results in mean increase of 5 hours. So, adding or subtracting same number of hours in every employee does not affect on standard deviation. So, standard deviation remains same.
