Describe how language affects the way we think. Provide examples to illustrate how language impacts thinking and how our social context influences the use of language.
Yes, language affects the way we think. I Think it changes the persons' perception towards the world, society and culture. If a person speaks only one language and he is fluent in It, his thinking would be limited because he has no access to other languages. His knowledge of the world and other people on the planet will be limited. For example, if a person knows many languages he has access to knowledge and he can come across many cultures of the world which will have an effect on his thinking. A person is fluent in many languages so he can make other people understand things in a better way.
A person in an outsider in the country and he don’t know how to speak English, he won’t be able to explain his thoughts to other and no one will able to understand his thoughts as they don’t know his language. So advisable to learn languages as it shapes your thinking and it will help you in your life.
Impact of language is such that we come across many things which are present in the world. If we know English than we can come across cultures of different countries, if we know Spanish than we can come across the culture of Spain we can read books in that language which will tell you more about that country and we can speak to Spanish people which would help us to communicate clearly, This are some impacts of language, that we come across many things if we know many languages.
If we know many languages than it is an advantage for us. As we meet many people in our day to day life, and sometimes we meet such peoples who don’t understand the local language but you know their language which can help you to communicate with them and this will leave a good impact on them.
Knowing many languages can leave a good impact on other people as they think that you are an intelligent person.
