Answer #1

Solution :

1)Using bentonite between two geonet and geotextile for bonding and increase the stability.

Advantage:

a)Increase the shear strength.

Disadvantage:

a)Increase cost

b) problums in drainage

2)Using geotextile adjacent to biplanar geonets.

In this ribs of geonet not perpendicular each other.

Advantage:

a) Better drainage,and stability

Disadvantage;

a)Increase chocking problum

b)Increase cost

    a. What is the purpose of lateral ties in a column? b. In shear wall design, requirements related to shear resistance are specified in TMS 402 Section 7.3.2.6.1.1. (shown below) Explain why the "code" stipulates these requirements. When designing special reinforced masonry shear walls to resist in-plane forces in accordance with Section 9.3, the design shear strength, ¢ Vn, shall exceed the shear corresponding to the development of 1.25 times the nominal flexural strength Mn, of the element, except that...

    A "product mix" problem can be solved quite easily by hand, as long as there is only one constraint (i.e. one resource in which demand > capacity). However, when there are multiple constraints it becomes quite complex. In the lab, we used Solver to find the product mix that results in the highest profit, subject to capacity constraints for each resource, and the constraint that we would not make more than the demand for any given product. Set up a...
