Answer #1

Diseases often test out the governance of a civilization where if the government and the governance is strong, it can effectively prevent the spread of diseases and an inefficient government fails to do so. Diseases can alter the whole demography of an area after it gets out of control and can even put civilizations to and end. The major diseases that contributed to the fall of the above-mentioned civilizations were the plague of Athens and the Antonine Plague of Rome. The plague of Athens killed between 75,000 to 100,000 people and it happened at a time when Athen was in the second year of the Peloponnesian war. The antonine plague was also extremely deadly and caused about 5 million deaths, this was because the mortality rate in the disease was much higher.
