Plants are producers. They are special as they have the ability to make food by using sunlight, water, and nutrients from the soil. Plants produce oxygen and oxygen is crucial for life form on earth.

Plants provide food and oxygen to all organisms. All other organisms depend on the photosynthesizing organism as they cannot prepare their own food.

If all plants die then, we will not have food to eat and oxygen to breathe and very soon the whole food web will collapse and one by one majority of the life forms will die.

Plants are not only providing us with food but also provide oxygen and are home for a number of other lifeforms that are part of the food web. They provide shelter and support to another life form. So, it is important to under those plants should be conserved to protect biodiversity and maintain the balance of the ecosystem.
