1) In the graph we can observe that chlorophyll a and b shows an absorption spectrum between 400-450 and 650-700. This is coherent because the established absorption spectrum for both is between of the blue and orange-red light (around 450-475 nm and 650-675 nm). On the other hand, the rest of pigments showed just one peak between 420-440 which means that the only are excited by one interval of wavelengths.

2) I would conclude that It's beneficial for a plant to have more than one pigment because the more energy they can absorb from the sun using their pigments, the better levels of photosynthesis. Sometimes, plants are not in contact with a specific wavelength, for that reason there are mora than one pigments capable of absorb energy
