The 21q22 region of chromosome 21 has been identified as containing DSCR, although the exact location of subset of chromosome 21 that is responsible for the physical features of Down syndrome has not yet been proven. Many genes are located in this region, including RCAN1,PSGM1,DSCR3,DSCR4,PIGP,DSCR6,DSCR8.
