1. No. Fungus is not a plant. Because fungus obtains food in parasitic fashion whereas plant produce its food itself by photosynthesis.

2. No. Lichen is not a plant. Lichen doesn't have roots through which it can absorb the nutrients and water as the plants do. Rather the fungul part of the lichen absorb nutrients in parasitic manner. That's why lichen is placed in Fungi Kingdom

3. No. Lichen is a result of mutualistic relationship between fungus and a photosynthetic organism e.g. algae.

4. The relationship is called mutualistic relationship or symbiosis.

5. Gymnosperm means "naked seeds". The plants that come under this category are comprised of naked seeds i.e. seeds that are not enclosed within fruits.

6. The term angiosperm means "casing seeds". The plants which come under this category are basically flowering plants which seeds are enclosed within fruits.

7. The sphorophyte is diploid because it is produced from the fertilisation of haploid sperm and haploid egg cell.

8. The reproductive particle produced by a sphorophyte is known as spore which is haploid in nature.

9. Gametophyte is haplois in nature because it is produced from the haploid sphorophyte.

10. The reproductive particle produced by a gametophyte is known as gamete which is also haploid in nature.

11. Generally lower plants produce sexually when they are wet because they need water to carry sperm and egg.

12. The fruit mainly protects the seeds from external damages and aids in the dispersal of mature seeds.

13. The main purpose of flower in a plant is reproduction. It mediate the joining of sperm to the ovule and produce seeds for reproduction.
