This is Hook's law eqation, a graph could be drawn taking restoring force (F) at Y-axis and distance(X) at X-axis. a graph passing though origin with positive slope, force constat(kf) will be obtained.negative sign of force constant says that restoring force acts in the oposit direction of displacement.restoring force is the force needed to bring back the body to equilibrium.
