For the conditions listed in the table below, indicate whether or not RNA is made from the wild type e. coli lactose operon.

Answer #1

cAMP binds CRP and bind to promoter regions and helps to recruits the promoter to the promoter sequence.

And lactose becomes allolactose and it binds with the repressor and the REPRESSORs becomes inactive which cannot bind to the operator and thus the transcription continues.

When cell has glucose it will have low cAMP and this low cAMP -crp complex.

When lactose and glucose both will absent mRNA will be but low.

Glucose absent lactose present then mRNA will be huge.

Glucose + and lactose - the. No mRNA

Glucose+ and lactose + mRNA expression will be but in low grade.

Thank you

Microbiology question 51. Lacl regulates the expression of the lac operon, which encodes enzymes necessary for lactose metabolism. The genotypes of different E. coli strains are listed below. (For this exercise, lacP refers to the promoter, and lacO refers to the operator site where Lacl binds. lacl+ means wild-type, whereas lacl- indicates a loss-of-function mutation. lacO- means that Lacl cannot bind the operator.)
