  1. Creating Mission and vision for Acute care hospital- Strategic management starts with a big picture mission and vision. This concept is a clearly articulated statement expressing your overall reason for being in business, whether you aim to earn as much money as possible or to make the world a better place
  2. Environmental Analysis: is the concept which would describe the strengths & weaknesses of the acute care hospital.these are called internal environment of the organization while it also describes the opportunities & threats present outside the hospital.
  3. Self-appraisal: the strengths and weaknesses of the organisation are analysed. Such an analysis will enable the enterprise to capitalize on its strengths and to minimise its weaknesses. The enterprise can utilise the external opportunities by concentrating on its internal capacity. By matching its strengths with the environmental opportunities, an enterprise can face competition and achieve growth.
  4. Quality Issues- In an acute care hospital, patients are needed quality care from the hospital side. some issues related to quality could be medical error reports, time consuming process to transfer the patient reports, extra time on identifying the diagnosis of the patient etc.
  5. Quality control -Quality control is the strategic planning in which Acute care hospitals can implement quality so that quality care can be given to patients. for example- Acute care hospitals can implement HIT(health information technology), Electronic medical records etc.
  6. Issue of work culture- as we all know that in An acute care hospital, a manager deals with variety of people which could become a issue in front of management because of their cultural differences from others.
  7. Decision to make work culture & ethical conduct in the Acute care hospital is the necessary decision which could remove the issues related to culture & ethics in the acute hospital.
  8. Performance appraisal is the technique which a health care manager can use to measure the performance of staff, nurses, doctors & physicians in the hospital.it would help the hospital management to check that performance is up to the standards of not.
  9. Resource management it is the decision which would help the Acute care hospital to manage its resources like building, human power, funds, technology etc in an optimum way & reduce the cost to Acute care hospital.
  10. Financial Control Technique-Strategic management uses financial control techniques such as budgets, accounting audits and financial analysis to keep the cost of business under control. The budget determines the amount of resources allocated to a specific activity or project for a set period of time in the acute care hospital.
