20. The amount of potassium secreted by the kidney is regulated by aldosterone. Secretion of aldosteron depends upon the amount of potassium present in body. When amount of potassium is low, aldosteron is secreted and potassium is reabsorbed in collecting duct and distal tubule.

21. In plasma and RBC body CO2 reacts with water to form H2CO3. CO2 is carried by red blood cells and with the help of carbonic anhydrase it is converted to carbonic acid.

22. Respiratory response to Alkalosis is hypoventilation. This helps body to increase CO2 concentration, thereby reduce too much alkalinity of blood.

23.The most effective long term protection against pH changes of body fliud is renal control of H+/HCO3_. It controls a crucial mechanism to maintain the blood pH between 7.35 to 7.45.
