1. Briefly explain why it is essential that there be some solid Sr(IO3)2 present in the bulb of the reaction pipet when the equilibrated supernatant liquid is measured, prior to titration.

I did not do any experiments or anything for this, so I don't understand how to answer this. Please help me!

The reason to have some solid sample left in any solubilization experiment is to have a saturated solution.

A saturated solution is one where the solute has completely dissolved and no more solute can dissolve this is indicated by some solid being insoluble.

I am assuming you are using a saturated solution for some titration where you need this to be saturated so the indication is some solid Sr(IO3)2
