Ans. Penetration testing is performed to evaluate cyber security of a particular system. The test is authorised and can detect if any unauthorized person is getting the information of a system. This testing is performed in many ways such as reconnaissance, footprint, fingerprinting etc.

Fingerprinting are the steps for testing to evaluate details of a particular target.

Whereas, Reconnaissance is a larger attack steps for testing and fingerprinting is a part of this larger Reconnaissance attack.
