Please discuss the various effects of adopting agriculture (both positive and negative). What kinds of residual consequences do you see in the world today? In your own life? How do you think our relationship with food production has changed over time?

Positive effects of adopting agriculture are:-

1. It helps in bringing food to plate and understanding and adopting agriculture ensures that every man is able to cultivate crops and eat food.
2. It is economically viable and sustainable and if done in proper way it helps in reducing poverty. Adopting agriculture is much better than other sectors as it improves livelihoods and is a solution to curb hunger.
3. With use of proper agricultural techniques, one can cultivate different crops and plants in a small place. It is a gold mine for entrepreneurs.
4. Adopting agriculture can transform the way cultivation is done and new techniques can be included.

Negative impact of adopting agriculture

1. Sometimes due to excess agriculture it leads to reducing the fertility of the soil and leads to depletion of the nutrition of the soil.
2. It leads to land conversion and habitat loss due to the conversions of the land into agricultural lands.
3. At times it also leads to soil erosion and degradation of the soil.

Residual consequences in the world due to adoption of agriculture:-

• Due to use of pesticides and fertilizers, it leads to increase in the land pollution. The organic farming uses organic manure but the produce is less. The chemicals and fertilizers leave residual traces.
• Habitat loss and conversion of usable land to waste lands due to over agriculture and cultivation on the lands.
