When looking at the five studies that I was able to find, the first study that identifies spatial inequality, uses a qualitative narrative research deign. This study provides background data on spatial inequality which supports my gap. Sociologists have produced well known, large scale literatures regarding inequality in various geographic territory that are at two ends of the spatial scale continuum that are within a city and across the nation. Social economic inequalities are spread across middle-range territories and those units may be conceptualized and give way to provide two sets of empirical examples. . The next study used a causal comparative design to decide which of the compared the single mediating variable to create a general estimation strategy. This study dives in labor market conditions. This was used to determine how longer term consequences in decreased job opportunities and black male underperformance in the classroom, made a profound impact on topics that are encompassed within communities that are low income which include a decrease in working class stability, decrease in traditional nuclear families, and an increase in black market low skill male workers.

The next study surrounding labor market conditions use a quantitative correlational research design due to its need to take the three variables and investigate their relationship without manipulation (Singer Pressman, 2016). This study sheds light on welfare reform in the United States. This study was the closet study to the study I intended to partake in as it is similar in variables and the need for a two-way ANOVA is used to determine whether there is an interaction effect between two independent variables on a continuous dependent variable (i.e., if a two-way interaction effect exists). The final study was a quantitative research design which used a complex sampling module ofSPSS version 22 which uses the common Taylor Series adjustment method to estimate precise standard errors since the ECLS-B employed stratified random sampling. This study was necessary due to its look into the usage of public assistance participation. Results suggested that the mother's work status, marital status, age, education, as well as the child’s race and number of siblings played a major role in the family's usage of child care subsidy whether the child was with nor without a disability.
