Answer #1

Solution:

Given,

=>subnetwork address = 100.100.0.16

=>Number of Employees = 1006

(a)

=>Number of bits required for IP address to 1006 employees = seal(log2(1006))

=>Number of bits required for IP address to 1006 employees = 10 bits.

=>subnetwork address = 100.100.0.16

=>subnetwork address = 01100100.01100100.00000000.00010000

=>IP address range = 01100100.01100100.00000000.00010001 to 01100100.01100100.00000011.11111110

=>IP address range = 100.100.0.17 to 100.100.3.254

(b)

Explanation:

=>Here 10 bits are given for host ID part and 22 bits for network and subnetwork ID part.

=>Put all 1's in-network and subnetwork ID part and all 0's in host ID part.

=>Subnet mask = 11111111.11111111.11111100.00000000

=>Subnet mask = 255.255.252.0

(c)

Explanation:

=>Put all 1's in host ID part.

=>Broadcast address = 01100100.01100100.00000011.11111111

=>Broadcast address = 100.100.3.255

I have explained each and every part with the help of statements attached to it.
