T-test is a statistical analysis which helps in determining whether the means of two groups are significantly different or not. This type of test is used to examine if there was a difference due to an external factor (introduced purposefully) on one of the two groups being studied or on the same group but after some predefined time interval.
However, not always is the case that we have only 2 groups at our disposal. When we need to assess the significant difference between two or more groups then Anova is required. Anova can also find significance within the groups.

A researcher is interested in the effects of playing violent video games on aggressive behavior. There are two independent variables in his study—1) the type of video game played (violent or nonviolent), and 2) the amount of time spent playing the video game (either one day or one week). At the end of the testing phase each participant...

please show all steps and calculations Scenario 2. The endorphins released by the brain act as natural painkillers. A researcher monitored the endorphin activity and pain thresholds of pregnant rats during the days before they gave birth. The data showed an increase in pain threshold as the pregnancy progressed. The change was gradual until 1 or 2 days before birth, at which point there was an abrupt ncrease in the pain threshold. Apparently a natural painkilling mechanism was preparing the...
SPSS Homework 1 Instructions: Review and One-Way ANOVAs (40 points) Please note that for all problems in this course, the standard cut-off (alpha) for a test of significance will be .05, and you always report the exact power unless SPSS output states p=.000 (you’d report p<.001). Also, remember that we divide the p value in half when reporting one-tailed tests with 1 – 2 groups. Problem Set 2: Pearson’s correlation (7 pts) Research Scenario: Is there a positive relationship between...
Problem Set 2: Two-way mixed design ANOVA (8 pts) Research Scenario: A researcher is attempting to determine the effects of age and sleep deprivation on a reaction time task. Participants (5 “old”; 5 “young”) in an experiment are given a computerized search task. They search a computer screen of various characters and attempt to find a particular character on each trial. When they find the designated character, they press a button to stop a timer. Their reaction time (in ms)...
The z-tests Help with this page is greatly appreciated. I dont understand how to show a full diagram. Thanks in advance :) The z-test 10.1 Assume that a treatment does have an effect and that the treatment effect is being evaluated with a z hypothesis test. If all factors are held constant, how is the outcome of the hypothesis test influenced by sample size? To answer this question, do the following two tests and compare the results. For both tests,...
