T-test is a statistical analysis which helps in determining whether the means of two groups are significantly different or not. This type of test is used to examine if there was a difference due to an external factor (introduced purposefully) on one of the two groups being studied or on the same group but after some predefined time interval.

However, not always is the case that we have only 2 groups at our disposal. When we need to assess the significant difference between two or more groups then Anova is required. Anova can also find significance within the groups.
