In order to adjust in the high temperature environment, high amounts of saturated fatty acids are found because these fatty acids have higher melting points compared to unsaturated fatty acids and prevent the membranes to be liquid. On the other hand, the archaeal organisms found in the antartica where temperature is low, their membranes have a probability to form gel and stop functioning, in order their membranes to be fluid in nature they adjust themselves in the environment by introducing higher amounts of unsaturated fattty acids which have lower melting temperature and keep their membranes fluid in nature so that these cell membranes function normally.
