Imagine that you have been appointed as a project manager for an important IT project in a large firm.  Answer the following questions:

1. Briefly outline which category of employee (top managers, business analysts, designers, developers, testers, system administrators, end-users) you will have frequent interaction with during the seven phases of the Systems Development Life Cycle and briefly explain why your interaction with these categories of employees will be frequent.
2. What project management tools would you draw on over the course of the seven phases of the SDLC to help you insure project success?  Briefly explain why these tools are important.
3. How will your job be differ depending on whether your firm decides to use a waterfall or an agile methodology?

answer-

as Project manager it is my responsibility to make sure that project is completed on time with lowest cost. In seven phase of SDLC, i would interact with employee which would be different on different stages of SDLC. at planning stage, i would interact with top managers to plan the project because they would help me to plan the budget, scope etc of that project. at stage of system analysis and requirement, i would interact with business analyst because they would tell us how the system should work and what should be the requirement. at system design stage , i would interact with designers who would help me to understand how they would design the IT project.just like that at testing stage, i would interact with testers because they would test the system and see any quality issues are not there and end users will have last interaction at implementation stage to see if the IT project is working according to the specified requirements or not.

The project management tools which i would use over the seven phase of SDLC would be Budgeting tools at planning stage to make sure that Project would have effective budget and it would be completed on the budget.it is important because it would help to make the project cost effective.i could use Team collaboration tools to make sure that teams are working collaboratley in the development phase of the project.realtime dashboard whic would help me to see the real time situation of the project. other tools which are important are Gantt chart to make sure that activities are completed on scheduled time.

My job would increase if i choose to work for waterfall methodology because Waterfall is a structured software development methodology so most times it can be quite rigid. Agile can be considered as a collection of many different projects. ... Agile is quite a flexible method which allows changes to be made in the project development requirements even if the initial planning has been completed.
