Exporting, the most common form of international business activity is the process of sending goods or services from one country to other countries for use or sale there. Many firms are pushed into exporting because of shrinking domestic marketplaces but other firms are pulled into exporting because of foreign market opportunities.

Advantages: relatively low level of financial exposure, the speed of entry, expanding into a foreign market gradually (allows a company to assess the local environment and adapt its products to local consumers)

The three forms of exporting are indirect exporting, direct exporting, and intracorporate transfer. Indirect exporting involves selling a product to a domestic customer, which then exports the product in its original form or a modified form. Direct exporting involves selling directly to distributors or end-users in other markets. An intracorporate transfer occurs when a company sells its product to a foreign affiliate.

The exporting by any global company has a major significance in its commercial purposes and financial situation. When the copay decides to go for the export of the products, it has the opportunity of expanding the market beyond the boundaries of the home countries and thus the advantages of market expansion can be obtained.

With the help of the export of products and services, the revenue generation of the companies increases as now they are able to reach out to the customers situated in different countries. By expanding their market coverage to the other countries, these companies also help the local economy to grow as they provide the chances of earning foreign currencies for the home country.

Exports also create some kinds of issues for the economy of these companies if the products and services to be exported do not match with the quality expectations and the requirements of the local customers, then there is a great chance that the company might face financial losses in the form of rejection of its products and it will cause the wastage of financial resources.

In term of global commerce, export is quite helpful in ensuring the flow of goods from one country to another and thus the flow of wealth also takes place. Due to export, the economies of different countries become interconnected and the span of globalization increases which also help in increasing the lifestyle and living standard of the people.
